Love and Compassion to Share? We are eager to have your thinking and energy as we prepare for disasters which could impact people within the bounds of our Presbytery. The Community Disaster Response Team of the Presbytery of Charlotte is looking for those who have been trained in Stephens Ministry, counseling, pastoral ministry, and life who would be a contact person and advocate from their church to "stand beside" those who have been touched by hurricane, flood, tornado, or other disasters. At this time we would invite you to join our committee as we organize and plan for the pastoral and emotional care of persons hit by disaster. For more information or to volunteer, please call Rev. Jerry Rhyne, 704-721-4017; Rev. Jeannette Hickman, 704-726-0300; or Debbie Wilkinson, 704-535-9999, extension 213.

Speakers Available – Need Still Great in Haiti: Our Presbytery is organizing a coordinated effort to bring relief to our brothers and sisters in Bayonnais, a remote area of Haiti with particularly desperate need after recent hurricanes ripped through the area. One part of that effort is to create a "speakers bureau" of individuals who have personal knowledge and experience there. They are available to bring programs, pictures, and information to your congregation. Learn how you can most effectively channel your love and support to our hurting brothers and sisters in Haiti. To arrange a program, contact Debbie Wilkinson, 704-535-9999, ext 213, or Doug Wilson, 704-364-5059. |

Send Aid to Myanmar via Church World Service: Church World Service has a history of working with partners in Myanmar since 1958. Major US denominational groups, including Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, are channeling their support for relief efforts through CWS since their staff is already in that country, which is coordinating with local partner churches. The death toll has continually been climbing after the devastating cyclone recently hit, but working together, we can reach out to survivors with water, supplies, blankets, and other symbols of our love. Get the word out with these bulletin inserts.
